Announcement of the Training Plan for the CME.UC-MSC Course

– Pursuant to Circular 26/2020/TT-BYT of 28 December 2020 issued by the Ministry of Health, amending and supplementing a number of articles of Circular 22/2013/TT-BYT of 9 August 2013 of the Minister of Health, which provides guidance on continuing education for healthcare personnel.

– Pursuant to Official Letter No. 612/K2ĐT – ĐT of 25 March 2025 issued by the Department of Science, Technology and Training, Ministry of Health, on the organization and delivery of continuing education.

The Mescells Institute of Applied Cell Technology Research is running the training program Culture of Mesenchymal Stem Cells from Umbilical Cord Tissue.

1. Who the course is for

Trainees are healthcare professionals such as doctors, nurses, laboratory technicians and professional staff at medical facilities.

2. Course information

Credit periods: 63 periods, in 6 modules

Module 1: Overview of stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells.
Module 2: Stem cell therapy and legality in stem cell research and application.
Module 3: Cell biology laboratory and equipment.
Module 4: Isolation and primary culture of mesenchymal stem cells from umbilical cord tissue.
Module 5: Secondary culture of mesenchymal stem cells.
Module 6: Long-term preservation of mesenchymal stem cells and umbilical cord tissue.

Classes are taught face to face combined with online learning; hands-on practice accounts for two thirds of the time.

3. Faculty

The teaching staff are associate professors, PhDs, Master’s degree holders and doctors with many years of experience in teaching, research and practice in stem cell technology and biomedicine.

Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Binh, MD, PhD: Director of the Stem Cell Center – Vietnam National Children’s Hospital.
Nguyen Hai Nam, MSc: Director of the Mescells Institute of Applied Cell Technology Research and member of the Ministry of Health’s advisory board on stem cell quality control.

4. Certificate

Trainees who complete the Program and meet its learning requirements will be awarded a Certificate in accordance with Ministry of Health regulations.

5. Tuition fee

Tuition fee: VND 60,000,000 (in words: sixty million Vietnamese dong). This includes the tax invoice, the costs of study and assessment, and the end-of-course certificate.

6. Registration procedure

Organizations or individuals wishing to enroll are asked to pay 100% of the tuition fee 30 (thirty) days before the course opens and to submit the following documents:

Information form/Curriculum vitae
Decision assigning the trainee to the course, if any
